CARRY CONCEAL LICENSE - UPDATE

As the result of the ongoing current COVID-19 pandemic, Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announced that on March 17, 2020  all routine non-essential services provided by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office would be suspended until further notice. This action was taken is in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order issued March 15, 2020 along with  the legal recommendation of the Scioto County Prosecutors Office and the recommendation of the Scioto County Health Commissioner.

One of the routine non-essential services that were  suspended on March 17th included the accepting and processing of carry concealed applications. After consulting with the Director of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association, Sheriff Thoroughman has determined that the Scioto County Sheriff's Office will resume accepting and processing carry concealed applications with some modifications to ensure the health and safety of the public and the employees of the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.

We will resume the process by appointments only! Appointments will be scheduled from 8:30 am through 3:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. (excluding 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for lunch hour).


In order to assure that  your request for a carry conceal permit is processed successfully in the most effiecient manner, we are asking that you please thoroughly read and understand "all" of the information attached below which includes; CCW Application Process Requirements, CCW Application form and the CCW handbook.

Those applicants who failed to follow the instructions provided may be required to reschedule another appointment at a later date. Please read and thoroughly understand all of the information. Our main concern is to ensure the health and safety of the public and the employees of the Scioto County Sheriff's Office.
